KP Robinson served 25 years with the Des Moines Police Department, including 19 years on Metro STAR, 16 years as a sniper and 13 years as a sniper team leader.
His experience includes hostage rescue, high-risk warrants, dignitary protection, firearms instruction, patrol-rifle programs, ammunition and equipment evaluation, policy development and monthly and annual training design.
Robinson owns 5R Training and Consulting, serves as Senior Sniper Instructor for High Threat Training Group and serves as the American Sniper Association Area 4 (Midwest) Director.
5R was founded in November 2025 to bring realistic, relevant and precision-driven rifle training to law-enforcement professionals and serious shooters.
